One of the most respected physicians on Long Island, Michael C. Mesbah, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN with over 20 years of experience providing expert care at his private practice, Mesbah OB-GYN, in Garden City, New York.
After attending the seven-year accelerated Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education program at City University of New York (CUNY) in Manhattan, Dr. Mesbah earned his Doctor of Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York.
Dr. Mesbah completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital, now known as NYU Langone Hospital Long Island, in Mineola, New York.
Dedicated to providing cutting-edge medical care to his patients, Dr. Mesbah has extensive training in gynecological surgery, including minimally invasive laparoscopy and vaginal surgery. He’s also certified in robotic surgery.

Erin Mandato, MD
OB-GYN
Erin Mandato, MD is an obstetrics and gynecology physician at Mesbah OB-GYN in Garden City, New York. Dr. Mandato has a passion for obstetrics and spending time getting to know her patients throughout their pregnancy.
Dr. Mandato earned her bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo, New York. She continued her medical training in Buffalo, where she completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency. During residency, she invested her time to become certified in minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Dr. Mandato is excited to be home on Long Island, to continue providing compassionate and high quality care to all patients.

Rebecca Chazanoff, MD
OB-GYN
Dr. Chazanoff earned her bachelor’s degree and her Master’s in Genetics at Auburn University. She graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed her OB/GYN residency at East Carolina University. Dr. Chaznaoff is certified in both minimally invasive laparoscopy and robotic surgery. She has a passion for labor and delivery, and has extensive experience with high-risk obstetrics.
Dr. Chazanoff is very excited to settle down on Long Island and build her practice serving women and families with Mesbah OB-GYN!
She is also very involved in medical education and looks forward to working with the residents and medical students at NYU Long Island. In her off time, Dr. Chazanoff loves animals, musical theatre, and international travel.
Karen A. Wheeler, CNM, CNP
Nurse Practitioner
Karen A. Wheeler, CNM, CNP, is a certified nurse-midwife and certified nurse practitioner at Mesbah OB-GYN in Garden City, New York. Karen has provided comprehensive obstetrical and well-women care for more than 20 years.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Science at State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She later went on to complete her women’s health nurse practitioner program at SUNY Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood of New York City, now known as Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY).
Karen is also a graduate of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center Midwifery Program in Brooklyn, New York.
Karen takes great joy in providing compassionate and comprehensive health services for her Long Island community, giving them the care they need and deserve. She has a hospital affiliation with NYU Langone Hospital Long Island in Mineola, New York.
Karen enjoys reading, photography, knitting, walking, and biking when not taking care of her patients. She’s also actively involved in her parish.
Patricia Keegan, NP
Nurse Practitioner
Patricia Keegan, NP, is a women’s health nurse practitioner at Mesbah OB-GYN in Garden City, New York. Patricia is an experienced practitioner who takes a patient-centered and compassionate approach to care.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York, Patricia went on to earn her Master of Science in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York.
While in school, Patricia gained valuable clinical skills working as a registered nurse for more than four years with Northwell Health® at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream in Valley Stream, New York, and the previous seven years as a nurse at Northwell’s Long Island Jewish Forest Hills in Forest Hills, New York.
In 2021, Patricia joined Mesbah OB-GYN as a women’s health nurse practitioner.
Patricia is known for providing attentive and thorough care for her patients at Mesbah OB-GYN. With her skills and experience, she keeps her patients comfortable and provides comprehensive explanations about their health and treatment needs.
Michele Mesbah, RN, BSN, CCE
Registered Nurse
Michele Mesbah received her RN/BSN degree from Adelphi University in 1988. Her career in women’s healthcare began as a nurse at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York specializing in high risk Obstetrics & Gynecology. She transitioned into the maternity unit where she educated new mothers on baby care and breastfeeding. This led to her true passion which was working on the labor and delivery unit which is where she spent most of her nursing career.
Michele has been a cord blood educator as well as a childbirth educator for over 20 years. Educating expected couples on what to expect in labor and delivery as well as the importance in banking their baby’s stem cells at delivery.
