Providers / Karen A. Wheeler, CNM, CNP

Karen A. Wheeler, CNM, CNP, is a certified nurse-midwife and certified nurse practitioner at Mesbah OB/GYN in Garden City, New York. Karen has provided comprehensive obstetrical and well-women care for more than 20 years.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Science at State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She later went on to complete her women’s health nurse practitioner program at SUNY Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood of New York City, now known as Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY).

Karen is also a graduate of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center Midwifery Program in Brooklyn, New York. 

Karen takes great joy in providing compassionate and comprehensive health services for her Long Island community, giving them the care they need and deserve. She has a hospital affiliation with NYU Langone Hospital Long Island in Mineola, New York.

Karen enjoys reading, photography, knitting, walking, and biking when not taking care of her patients. She’s also actively involved in her parish.
